Introduction
Full modelling process here → Water Bottle Product Design
I designed a water bottle concept in 3D as an exercise in translating brand strategy into form.
The brief:
Create a bottle for an active lifestyle brand. It needed to be functional, visually distinct, and feel premium without being precious. Big enough for serious hydration, designed well enough that people would actually want to carry it.
Main Discussion
Form decisions:
The size was intentional – generous capacity for people who move. The spiral curve running up the body references water itself, suggesting flow and movement without being literal about it. Smooth finish, subtle sophistication. Aiming to not be boring, but also not resort to an agressive sport's brand.
Visual context:
I rendered it against an icy backdrop to reinforce the temperature-control angle and give it that "cold, fresh water on a hot day" feeling. Environment matters. The product doesn't exist in a void. It exists in someone's gym bag, on a hike, on their desk. You name it, it might be there.
Color strategy:
Four options – red, green, blue, purple. Vibrant enough to stand out, broad enough to cover different personality types in the target demographic. Gave the concept flexibility for future market testing without restricting it to neutrals.
Key Takeaways
I'm passionate about collaborating with brands to bring their visions to life through innovative 3D visualization and product development. I believe that by combining strategic thinking with creative execution, we can create products that look great and effectively communicate the brand's message.
